KEO digital have been nominated for a BAFTA Craft Award in recognition of the multi-platform campaign which supported Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s Fish Fight campaign earlier this year.
Over 665,000 people have already signed the anti-discard petition, while the anti-discard campaign, broadcast in January earlier this year, saw in excess of 200,000 ‘likes’ on Facebook and attracted the support of high-profile celebrities such as Jamie Oliver, Stephen Fry and Richard Branson across Twitter.
The KEO digital team are up against This Morning, Misfits and Million Pound Drop Live in the Digital Creativity category.
“The digital aspect to our Fish Fight campaign proved that people power can force change,” says Simon Deverell, Head of Creative at KEO digital.
“It’s added ‘direct action’ and ‘instant gratification’ as a dimension to TV broadcasting,” he added.
The British Academy Television Craft Awards 2011 will be held at The Brewery in the City of London on Sunday 8 May.
Meanwhile, KEO Films have also received two BAFTA TV Awards nominations.
Welcome to Lagos has been shortlisted for Factual Series, while Hugh’s Fish Fight will contest the Features Award with Come Dine With Me, Mary Queen of Shops and Pineapple Dance Studios.
